Summary of 2011 tax credit:

• Qualify criteria for exterior windows, skylights, and exterior doors are the program requirements for the US Energy Star Windows Program Version 5.0

• Tax credit is for the cost of the product only -- installation costs are not included

• Tax credit is 10% of the amount paid up to the maximum listed below

• The tax credit maximum is $500 total for any and all improvements

          $200 for qualifying windows & skylights

          $500 for qualifying doors

           (of which any amount used for qualifying windows is deducted from $500)

• If homeowner already claimed $200 (windows only) or $500 (windows & doors) in 2006, 2007, 2009, or 2010, no additional tax credits are available

• Product must be purchased and installed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011.
